Introduction This book is dedicated to my husband, Paul von Schuster, architect, deceased in 1987. He was born in Timisoara where he lived his childhood without worries, and worked as an architect. He passed away in the Fall of 1987, and having a profound love for "his" hometown he is resting in the homeland "Josefin" cemetery from Calea Sagului, or the Sag's Way. I am a kid from the Banat mountains; my husband introduced me to this town. He also inspired my love for Timisoara, and his bookcase was my data source for this book. First of all, I would like to underline that this book was not developed as a historical documentation, being known the fact that there are a lot of problems awaiting an answer, or they may cause contradictory discussions whose solving belongs to the specialists. I am an art amateur and I love beauty and that is why I do not make an artistic analysis of the town buildings letting the experts in science and history to present you Timisoara from their perspective. As far as I am concerned, I wish to present you Timisoara in general, then I will accompany you, dear readers, through the districts of the town on the Bega river, stopping in front of some of the buildings I consider interesting. I wish to help the third generations to say "Once upon a time...", and the young people to know better the town where they were born, where they live, or where their parents or grandparents lived, and I say to all the people from other parts established and living here: "Look around and Love this town! It fully deserves it!" If I succeed I declare myself content. Come with me; let's browse together the book about the Banatian town Timisoara! The Author: Else von Schuster
